Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had caused some to question if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a decider.
The opponent rescued four early break points in a close third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
